I have been producing editorial portraits and editorial feature stories for magazines for over 15 years. At the beginning of my career as a photographer I would pursue my own stories in New York and I would submit them to magazines for consideration. It began to pay off and one of my very first photo essays was published by The New York Times Magazine in 2000 and that was the beginning of my career as a photographer with the paper where I worked for seven years before I returned to live in Dublin.
In the same week as the New York Times Magazine accepted my photo essay I was also accepted into the Redux Pictures agency by Marcel Saba. Redux syndicated my magazine photography throughout America and worldwide appearing in titles such as The London Sunday Times, Marie Claire, Sports Illustrated, The Hollywood Reporter, Paris Match, American Photography, The Wall Street Journal, Stern to name a few.
I am still represented in Ireland by Redux Pictures and I photographed UFC fighter Conor McGregor for an editorial portrait for the cover of Sports Illustrated in February 2016. I also produced a magazine story on the set of Penny Dreadful for The Hollywood Reporter. Redux continues to syndicate my photographs and one of my photographs was used for the cover of the French edition of Sebastian Barry’s “The Secret Scriptures”. I am currently working on a story about the housing crisis in Ireland for VICE Magazine in the US.

Deirdre brings enthusiasm and passion to each assignment. I truly appreciate her hard work and dedication
So these look just great – thanks so much!
